The obsession to look beautiful and perfect, is one the most ugly and imperfect things.

The Riot.

About a month ago the Lord spoke to me in a vision/dream. I feel I should share it now.

I’m in a riot car, and just outside is one the biggest riots to ever be seen. In the car, the lord (our captian) was giving us instruction. He gave is all shields (Faith) but not ones ever seen/used by riot police. We looked at our shields with excitement, we knew this would help us in the riot. The lord then spoke to us saying, “These are your shields, They are NOT meant to be used for hurting anyone. If you want to stop this riot then you must do as i say.”

We all felt very encouraged with this instruction, but i then took a look at my fellow men who i would be stopping the riot with. I was then frightened to realize that there were about 6 or 7 of us! an even more frightening thought was that we were the chosen ones to be a part of this great riot, I felt that there was no way we could do this alone. However we all felt very encouraged with this instruction given to us by the lord our captain.

We then stepped outside to carry through what was given to us. This scene was nothing short of overwhelming. I saw other riot police trying to stop this riot, but they were bashing in the heads of the rioters with their shields. Hurting them and causing the riot to become even more consumed with anger and it grew.

I wanted to shout at them to stop hurting these people, for the lord had just told us we were not to hurt anyone with our shields. However i knew they would not listen, they actually thought they were doing the right thing! so they carried on in ignorance trying to do it themselves.

I looked at my fellow officers, and they too, felt overwhelmed by this scene.

I awoke from this dream wondering it’s full meaning. I knew i could find answers in scripture to my vision. and this was what i came upon.

¹⁰ Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. ¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

¹⁸ And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

(Ephesians 6:10-18)

This was the complete answer to my vision. The lord had equipped us with these shields because we deeply needed them, and he had told us that they were not meant for hurting anyone. Thats what Paul meant when he said “our battle is not against flesh and blood” The point was not to take down the rioters,but the powers of darkness causing this riot.

Woe to you Christians who think you do not need the weapons of the spirit to fight. and woe to you Christians who think all they need is peace and that there is no need for this kind of war. Your fight is Not with the people of this world, but with evil it’s-self.
